Charlie Williams is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Worcester. Described as “the bard of Worcester”, he is gaining a profile as a songwriter of note and compelling performer. His songs are rooted in folk but borrow shamelessly from pop, rock and Americana. Unsurprisingly considering his background as a novelist, many of his songs tell a story, covering local legends and Civil War history, setting forgotten lore to listenable music.
He has performed solo gigs at local pubs, Worcester Music Festival and ticketed events at venues in Worcester and Tewkesbury. His songs have been played on Invisible Folk Radio, BBC Introducing and local radio stations. He has been the “invited guest” at the Dragon Folk Club in Worcester and also performed at local events such as Worcestershire Living History 2024 and the Battle of Worcester Drumhead.
Charlie performs with just a mic, guitar and pedalboard and has amplification appropriate for a pub or intimate venue.
He recently released his debut album, “The Divider“, which has been positively received.
